I’ve said from the beginning that I’m a jeans and t-shirt kind of girl. Ever since I became a mom, I’ve fully embraced all the casual trends that keep rolling out. I’ll admit, it took me a second to jump on the graphic tee bandwagon. However, now that I’ve figured out how to wear them, I’m here for it! Today I’m sharing 6 different ways to style a graphic t-shirt.

Before I jump into my styling tips, I can’t help but comment on the whole band t-shirt trend. I do like band shirts, but personally will not wear a shirt for a band I don’t actually like or know at least two songs. Also, graphic t-shirts can seriously have anything on them – sports teams, destinations, bands, cute sayings or fun pictures. Find one that works with your style and go for it!
Also, I’ve purchased the graphic t-shirts featured in this post over the last 7-8 months. Therefore, it’s possible some of them may be sold out. I’ve tried to link to similar ones when possible. And now, onto the tips:
1. With a skirt
I don’t exactly live a fancy lifestyle these days, but I still like getting dressed up and feeling put-together. For me, a t-shirt and a skirt is kind of a perfect marriage. Trendy, comfortable, and fun. In fact, now when I see dressy skirts, I mentally look through the t-shirts in my closet to figure out which one would look best. I swear, try styling a t-shirt this way! You won’t regret it.
2. Add a denim jacket
Something about the combination between a t-shirt and a jean jacket is like peanut butter and jelly. A match made in heaven for sure. If you are having one of those days where you just can’t get out of your leggings, add a graphic t-shirt, denim jacket and cute sneakers and you are ready to go. That’s exactly why I love this trend.
And in case you are wondering, this denim jacket is my absolute favorite. It’s softer than most, slightly over sized and the perfect wash. It doesn’t hurt it’s on sale right now.
3. With a kimono
I’ve been a long-term kimono fan, so it shouldn’t be any surprise I’ve found a new way to wear them. Especially in Arizona, kimonos are the perfect lightweight layer and they are totally adorable with a graphic t-shirt underneath. A great way to pair two trends together this spring.
4. With jeans (or jean shorts) and cute shoes
Now here’s the thing. You don’t HAVE to wear layers to wear a graphic tee. Throw it on with denim jeans or shorts, add cute shoes and walk out the door. Casual, on-trend and stylish. Done and done.
5. Under a jacket or sweater
Let me repeat. You don’t have to add a layer with a good old graphic t-shirt, but, you can never go wrong with it. Here I have a few non-denim jackets styled with casual graphic t-shirts, but it would also look adorable with a cardigan sweater.
6. With leggings
I couldn’t imagine mom life without leggings. I wear them to work out, run errands and just about everything in between. The graphic t-shirt trend comes at a good time because it works perfectly with my favorite stretchy pants.
