By now, you guys all probably know we started our home remodel back in June of 2018. It still isn’t done (ugh), but we are getting pretty close. We are down to a lot of the little details, but those details seem to be the most time consuming part of the process. The good news is we are finally reaching the point where we are completing rooms, including furniture and decor. I’m so excited to share some photos today featuring our new master bedroom, complete with a custom bed from Interior Define.
Note: This post was sponsored by Interior Define, but all opinions included are my own
When we bought this house last year, I had big plans for the master bedroom. It was a big beige room with flagstone flooring, a fireplace, a sliding glass door, as well as a giant set of windows with plantation shutters (before and after photos coming soon). We changed almost everything about the room by painting it grey, installing wood look tile, swapped out the slider for french doors and even took out the fireplace to add a second closet. However, those plantation shutters were too pretty to replace.
The way the room was situated, there was really no other place to put the bed other than smack dab in front of the windows. Even though my dream master included some kind of giant head board, it just wasn’t going to happen in this house. Our bed from our master bedroom in our old house was way too tall, so my next best option was to find a bed that would fit under the windows. Easy enough, right? Nope. Not so easy.
We had about 36.5″ inches from the floor to the bottom of the window frame, so I was on the hunt for a 36″ tall bed that had a headboard. As it turns out, they are nearly impossible to find and the ones I located just weren’t my style. Well, until I came across the Gray bed at Interior Define. The second I saw it, I knew it would be perfect in the space for so many reasons.
In case you have never heard of Interior Define before, let me give you the scoop before I tell you all about the bed. This awesome custom furniture company allows you to choose your style and customize it with virtually every color, fabric and finish around. The quality is fantastic and you have the ability to truly make the piece your own.
The style of bed I chose, which is literally called the Grey bed, is available in a queen, king or California king (we got the king). It also had two different height options (30″ and 36″), which was amazing for a platform bed. In no way does the bed feel like you are sleeping on the floor (let’s be honest, some platforms do) and the overstuffed headboard is perfect for holding pillows or other items.
Having a hard time deciding with all those color and finish options? Interior Define will ship you 5 fabric swatches completely free of charge. I ordered 5 different grey colors and ended up choosing a cross weave material called “Plow”. Not only was it the perfect shade of grey for us, I loved that it was also a kid and pet friendly fabric. Since I have two messy little kids and a Siberian Husky that sheds like no other, I knew the folks at Interior Define were speaking my language.
I truly can’t say enough good things about how the space turned out with the show stopper being this gorgeous bed. We still don’t have any shelves inside the newly added closet, but once that part is finished, I’ll be sure to share some good before and after shots of the room.
