Who has heard of LipSense? Well, if you haven’t, let me fill you in on the best beauty secret I’ve been told in a long time. LipSense is this crazy long lasting lipstick that stays put like no other lip product I’ve ever tried before. I’m talking kiss proof, smudge proof, waterproof and lasts up to 18 hours. No more lipstick on your Starbucks cup, wine glass or your kiddos cheeks. So good that it even comes with an “oops remover” in case you need to get it off sooner. Yeah, that good.
I was so excited when Cortney Chambers, a distributor for Senegence (the creator of LipSense), reached out to me and asked me to test out the product. I’ve heard rave reviews about this crazy long-lasting lipstick, so I couldn’t resist an opportunity to give it a test run. Cortney sent me a tube of LipSense in the color dark pink, a tube of moisturizing gloss and the oops remover. She very clearly told me to use the product for a week and let her know what I thought. If I wasn’t a fan, you would not be reading this post right now. Honestly, after using it once, I was sold. Where has this been all my life?
The product has the standard lip gloss sponge-y brush and was super easy to put on. The color is pretty when first applied, but you really do need the moisturizing gloss on top to make it shine. If I have one critique on the product, I will admit one thing. It does have a slight burning feeling which occurs the first few times you use it. I talked to Cortney about this and she explained that it has a small amount of high grade alcohol in the product, which causes an exfoliation process during the first couple uses. Basically it is getting rid of all the old chapstick, lipstick, etc… on your lips. The shea butter in the moisturizing gloss really helps replace the bad with the good. The product is vegan, wax free, lead free and not tested on animals. After using it for a couple weeks, I will say the color honestly doesn’t transfer like traditional lipstick. 18 hours feels like a bit of a stretch to me, but I will say that after 6-8 hours, I can definitely still tell the color is present. Impressive stuff.
