National Handbag Day

handbag-2

I’m guessing everyone will be having cake for dessert this evening because it is National Handbag Day! I have no idea who comes up with these ridiculous “holidays”, but given my love of handbags, I thought it was only appropriate to share a few of my favorite bags on the market right now.

I’ll admit, I’m a lover of designer handbags. I have no problem purchasing a no-name clutch or tote, but when it comes to bags that I will carry and use for years, I prefer the big-name designers. If you’ve been reading my blog for more than a hot second, you know I’m all about inexpensive clothing, but purses are one of my big splurges. I just love them. Those of you who follow me on Instagram may have seen the picture below before, but here’s a sneak peak into the purse section of my closet.

I tend to gravitate toward the neutrals, but that’s about to change this year. I’ve included a bunch of colorful options below because I’m on the search for a great bag that isn’t black, brown or grey. Since I love colorful clothing, neutrals tend to match with more, but I’d really like to mix it up sometime soon.

Here are a few of my current favorites (note: this post may include affiliate links):

I’ll admit, Tory Burch has my heart when it comes to handbags. I have several Tory bags and while they don’t drastically differ from the rest, they are my favorites in my closet. If you are on the hunt for a small bag, I’d recommend this Fleming Small Convertible Handbag. I have a grey one that is very similar in style to this and it is large enough to fit a wallet or sunglasses. I’m also crushing on this red Thea Center Zip Tote. This bag would be perfection come December. Both bags are $495 (I know, spendy), but Tory does periodically have sales on your entire purchase.

I can’t tell from the picture if this Vince Camuto leather crossbody bag is more of a summer yellow or mustard yellow, but it is really cute. I love colorful cross-body bags for a fun pop of color without being too over the top. This bag is currently half-off and is only $63.98.

I have never owned a Burberry bag, but it is on my life list of “things to own before I die”. I’ve always loved the classic plaid and this Peyton Crossbody Bag is the perfect amount of Burberry for everyday wear. It costs $495 (I know, eeeeek), but this is one that will never go out of style.

I was surprised to see that Saks had a couple adorable Rebecca Minkoff bags on sale right now. How gorgeous is this navy blue tassel hobo bag? The navy color is neutral enough to match with everything, but it is a great alternative to black. I’m also a fan of this khaki leather moto bag. These two range from $206-220.

I have a small Michael Kors bag in luggage and I think it is the most perfect cognac color. I love cognac leather, especially during fall, because it matches with seriously everything. I found this Jet Set Top Zip bag on Amazon for only $161 (originally $248) with free shipping. If you are looking for a perfect everyday tote, this is it.

Kate Spade currently has an additional 25% off all sale items using code SHOWTIME. I realize an orange bag probably isn’t practical for everyday, but this Cedar Street Maise bag comes in a bunch of other colors. It is only $156 after the discount and it is a no-brainer trying to decide which handbag to use on Halloween. I also really like this black Cameron Street Perforated Candace Satchel, which also comes in rose and white, which is $177.75 after the discount. Both bags give you an option of a short or long strap and will last you for years to come.

Tell me all about your favorite handbags in the comments below!

Jenny
