Trend Alert: Fringe

I realize it has been quite a while since I wrote one of my Trend Alert posts. Now that the winter stuff has officially found its home on the sale rack, it is a lot easier to see what the trends will be for spring and summer. One trend that continues to pop up all over the place is fringe. I’m not talking brown suede cowboy vest fringe. You can do fringe in a much more subtle way to be trendy and not completely over the top. Here are few spring fringe favorites of mine done right.

Although it is kind of hard to see the fringe detail on this sleeveless shirt, it is there at the bottom and really awesome in person. I know this because I actually own this tank. I’ve worn it a couple times with jeans and leggings and received compliments every single time. Also available in navy and it is marked down to $31.99. This tank has become my go-to for a night out without the kids, which I definitely don’t do often enough.

Banana Republic has really gotten me with their Instagram ads lately. Has anyone else seen these awesome fringe heels popping up in their feed? Every time I see them, I wish I had somewhere dressy to wear them. They come in the black and green shown above, as well as red, cobalt, mocha latte. These are probably my favorite fringe find so far this year.

How cute is this striped shift dress with the fringe at the bottom? Everything about this dress is perfection in my eyes. I can’t get enough shift dresses in my closet, and the fringe is just enough to update it for 2016. It isn’t cheap at $148, but today is the last day for free shipping at Anthropologie. Now if it would only go on sale…

If shift dresses are still months away where you live, then maybe this cardigan sweater would be a better fit. I love the simple stripes with the hint of fringe at the bottom. This sweater looks perfectly comfy and cozy.

Finally, I could totally see myself rocking these metallic fringe sandals this summer. They are also available in traditional cowboy tan and mint suede, I personally prefer the silver metallic. You’d think I’d start to embrace the cowboy colors since I regularly see people riding their horses down the sidewalk of busy streets in Scottsdale, but I just can’t do it. I do live in the wild, wild west, but I try to take fashion tips from other parts of the country. These aren’t a bad price at $59.95.

How do you feel about fringe? Yay or neighhhhhh (sorry, really bad horse joke).
