Kid’s Swimwear

Kids Swimwear

If you ask me, it really isn’t hard to find cute kid’s swimwear. There is something about mini swimsuits which makes me want to spend money. I have no idea why, but my husband does not feel the same way.

I know, absolutely shocking.

One of my favorite tasks each spring is picking out a new swimsuit or two for my kids. The bright colors, ruffles and preppy patterns are so totally adorable. And it can’t hurt to find one that is functional, easy to get off in the bathroom and protects their skin from the sun.

 Target

I love these red anchor shorts from Target. Although the Target website says they are an online-only item, I actually found and purchased them for my son at my local store. The best part: the price tag. $10. Since my kids seem to outgrow their suits each year, it doesn’t hurt to save a few bucks. And since they are such a bargain, it is the perfect excuse to buy more than one swimsuit.

Gap

How cute is this pink dot suit from Gap? Pretty sure I know a little baby girl that would look adorable in this one piece. The reviews say the style tends to runs small and has a scoop back.

Carters

Um, mint green sailboat trunks? Thank you Carter’s for this amazing design. These might have been designed with my son in mind, who just happens to be named Carter. Coincidence? I think not.

Pretty sure I will be taking Carter to Carter’s this weekend to pick up these gems.

Rash Guard

I am a huge fan of long sleeved rash guards for my kids. Since it is always a battle to apply sunscreen to wiggly toddlers, a rash guard is an easy way to make sure the bulk of their bodies are covered from the sun. This particular one is from Gap and I love the simple design since it is guaranteed to match with any swim trunks. And UPF 40+ protection? Amazing.

I know I’ve only been a mom for a couple years, but is the rash guard concept new? I know these things did not exist when I was a kid. Which I suppose was a long, long, long time ago. Meaning it could have been around for a good 20 years and I had no idea till I had kids of my own. I’m going to stop talking now before I feel like a senior citizen.

Old Navy

I know this little number is skimpy, but how cute would this be on a little baby? All I can picture is leg rolls and a huge baby belly hanging out the front. Cutest. Thing. Ever. Head on over to Old Navy to pick this one up.

J crew

These board shorts from J. Crew are classics. They will match with everything, never go out of style and would look great on big or little kids. I’m a huge fan of J. Crew’s kids swim line. The items are a touch more expensive than the other options, but quality is top of the line. These bad boys can withstand months and months of harsh chlorine and sun.

Target 2

I also bought my daughter this rash guard set from Target. Only $14 for both pieces and the shirt features UPF 50+ sun protection.

It is like the Target marketing people know what they are doing. The suit itself is a decent price, but it adds up quickly when you add in the matching hat and cover up. Clearly they are way too cute to pass up and I needed the whole collection. Gets me every time!

Happy  and safe swimming this summer!
