Friday Favorites: Tried and True Favorites from the Nordstrom Sale

I love buying basics for sales like these

The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is finally open to the public! This sale is all about Fall favorites and other basics we will use throughout the year. I’ve already rounded up my favorite items from the sale by category here, as well as what I purchased here. Now it is time to share my tried-and-true favorites. In many cases, I’ve used these items for years and know that you’ll love them as much as I do.

Before I get down to basics (get it?!), I want to apologize for the fact the Nordstrom sale has been taking over my blog lately. We only have one more week in LA and I’m doing my best to spend it with my kids on the beach. It just happened to fall at the same time as arguably the biggest sale of the year for bloggers. Come August, I’ll be back to regularly scheduled programming. Now onto the savings in no particular order.

Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Favorites

1. Monica Vinedar Bracelet. This simple bracelet is my favorite stackable bracelet in my jewelry case. It is available in three different metals (rose gold, gold and silver) and looks perfect paired with other accessories or on it’s own. I have mine engraved with my wedding date, which can be done free of charge in-store at most Nordstroms. It’s a bit of a splurge, but the perfect gift for a special event.
2. Moroccanoil. I’ve been a long-time fan of this brand, which continues to wow me with their new products. I’ve used the treatment oil for ages and recently have been digging the suncare line. If you have never tried Moroccanoil, now is definitely the time to go for it while it is on sale.
3. Sam Edelman Block Heels. I have the nude leather version of this exact shoe and was excited to see the suede version is included in this year’s anniversary sale. If you are looking for a good basic shoe that won’t break an ankle (gotta love block heels) or the bank, this pair is a good one.
4. Fuzzy jacket. I just bought this fleece jacket last week during the early access period (see what it looks like on me here) and am already declaring it a tried and true favorite. It is that good. I wore it twice in the evenings after the sun went down and it is as cozy as can be. My husband thought I was ridiculous since it was probably only 65 degrees outside, but I was flat out comfortable and didn’t care. The same brand also makes a 1/2 zip version which is a couple dollars cheaper.
5. Live in Leggings. These leggings have been a staple piece for me for several years. I wear them around town, to work out and just about everything in between. They are the same quality as the expensive activewear brands and usually more than half the price. Nordstrom has a bunch of cute colors and prints on sale this year, too. Click here to see all the Zella leggings on sale.
6. Barefoot Dreams Cardigan. I already talked about my love of being cozy up in #4 and I think the Barefoot Dreams cardigan may have started it all. I bought my first one when I was pregnant with my daughter and have since bought a second. This brand makes THE SOFTEST sweaters I’ve ever worn. Nordstrom sells them in the lingerie department, but I’ve worn both of mine out of the house more times than I can count. It is a bit of a splurge, but worth every single penny.
7. Spanx Faux Leather Leggings. So let me explain a bit about these. While the name of them says “faux leather”, I’d say they are just a bit fancier than normal leggings. They really look nothing like leather in my opinion, just textured. You can see them on me here, here and here. Say your husband wants to go out to dinner but you’d rather Netflix and chill, throw on your Spanx faux leather leggings. You have a long night with the girls ahead of you, but want to be comfortable? Spanx faux leather leggings. I wore these way more than I thought I would and am so excited they are back this year. They now even come in a moto and camo version!
8. Gold mules. OK I don’t have this exact version of mules, but mine look almost identical (mine are sold out). Especially as a mom who is constantly trying to get kids to put on shoes, who has time to deal with laces of their own?! Pair these puppies with leggings, jeans or shorts and they are stylish and comfortable. We all need a pair!
9. Nuface Facial Toning Device. I talked about this a few days ago on my Instagram Stories. This device uses microcurrents to improve facial tone, reduce pores and wrinkles. I’ve only been using it for a few days and my skin feels crazy soft and amazing. I have never done botox or fillers, but I’m all about at-home devices like this one to help fight the signs of aging. It is about the price of a facial at a nice salon and you can use it every single day if you’d like. We all need one of these.
10. Natori Bra. If you ask me, bras aren’t a fun purchase, but there is nothing worse than an uncomfortable one. I splurged on this one a couple years ago and am embarrassed to admit how often I reach for this one. The straps don’t fall and it just fits.
11. Clinique Yellow Lotion. I’ve tried a million other lotions over the years, but when it comes down to it, the old school Clinique yellow lotion is my tried and true favorite. If only Clinique could figure out a way to add SPF to it, I’d never even consider another option. Good time to stock up.
