Add A Knot: A Cute, Simple Way To Style A Maxi Dress

I’m all about cute, easy, and affordable ways to style a simple outfit. After all, my style goal is usually try to appear put together while still being comfortable. Most of the time, I achieve my goal. Other times, well, I end up being a little uncomfortable. However, I’m winning big-time on this outfit. I’m convinced tying a simple knot at the bottom of the dress totally made the look.

The knot trend is huge right now. I have total flash backs to my childhood where every shirt I owned was worn with a knot on the side. I even remember those odd plastic loop things to make our knots that much more stylish. I’m not convinced the plastic loops are going to be a hit in 2018, but I’ll admit, I’m loving the knot look. It’s cute on shirts, but I’m also obsessed with it on a maxi dress.

I’ve always liked maxis, but I rarely wear them in Phoenix in the summer because it is way too flipping hot. I need my legs to be able to breathe when it is 115 outside. But now that I know all about the knot, maxis are back in rotation for me this summer.

I’m going to say this right now – we all NEED this maxi dress. Yes, need, not want. Here’s the reason. It’s only $20 and comes in three colors – black and white stripes, solid black and the color I have on. The website says my dress is “dark pink” but I feel like it is a tad more red than pink. However, I love the color and think it would look good on just about everyone. This dress actually has two slits in it (one on each side), which makes it super easy to knot. I personally like the knot just a smidge off center, just so it drapes nicely.
