Honesty moment right here. Two of my top five most-used accessories in my closet are the two stretchy headbands I purchased from Athleta a few months ago. I’m one of those who has an annoying natural wave in my hair. Super-straight haired people, don’t hate me. It isn’t a cute wave and my strands are typically out of control when I wake up in the morning. I also have these oddly short pieces of hair that frame my face and never seem to grow. Let’s just say I have long established friendships with my hair straightener and my hair spray.
Since I usually go workout after I drop my son off at school, the only way I can keep my mane contained at the gym (and the hours after until a shower happens) is by wearing a headband. Some people prefer hats, I’m into headbands.
I have an entire drawer full of cute headbands I rarely wear because they slip off my head the second I start running. Sound familiar to anyone?
Like I said above, a few months ago I was in Athleta searching for yet another overpriced headband that would likely slip off my head. I stumbled across this black thin sparkle headband by Sparkly Soul and my headband world was flipped upside down.
The inside of the headband is lined with this soft, velvety goodness that not only was comfortable, but it kept the headband from falling off my head. The sparkle on the band was cute and not too blingy or over the top.
I went back a few weeks later and purchased this wide satin headband in true blue and I’ve been wearing the two on rotation ever since. They aren’t crazy cheap – the thin sparkly style is $15 and the wide satin is $17 – but I’ve absolutely gotten my money’s worth out of them.
I’ve already decided that I’m asking for a bunch of new colors for Christmas. Any holiday overachievers out there who are already looking for gift ideas under $20, here you go.
