Since having kids, Valentine’s Day has taken on a whole new meaning. Gone are the days where my hubby and I make reservations weeks in advance at a fancy restaurant to celebrate on the 14th. We do try to spend some time together, but since sitters tend to be at a premium, it doesn’t always happen. And if I’m being totally honest, I’d rather spend that extra money buying my kids cute heart clothes. If I had to guess, my husband and I will end up splitting a bottle of Rose on the patio after the kiddos are in bed. Because what says love more than sharing a bottle of pink wine. #mykindoflove
My son is so excited about his Valentine’s Day party at school this year. He has already picked out some pretty awesome Paw Patrol Valentines for his friends. I’m usually not one for kids shirts with a ton of words on them, but I love these vintage Peek t-shirts available at Nordstrom (Heart Breaker here and Love here). There is something about the soft heathered grey shirt that makes them so much cooler than the typical heart shirts you can find at every other store. However, these vintage shirts don’t come cheap since the shirts are between $28-34.
I love getting holiday pj’s for my kids because I have absolutely no problem dressing them in skeleton pj’s in January. You can still get a few festive pictures and wear them for months to come. Plus hearts on girls aren’t quite as “festive” as some other holidays. These heart pj’s are on sale at Gap for $16.17.
Boys totally get jipped with Valentine’s Day. There really aren’t a ton of good options out there, but I love this bow and arrow raglan available at Old Navy.
