I’m a big fan of Madewell. If you’ve never heard of Madewell before, I view Madewell as J. Crew’s cooler older sister (they are owned by the same company). This older sister has a hint of a hipster vibe to her, but is always right on trend, comfortable and effortless. Unfortunately, it costs you a pretty penny to be that cool because the prices are definitely higher than J. Crew. Therefore, I personally don’t own a ton from Madewell. But I love walking through their stores and finding the occasional item on sale, which makes today’s 40% off all sale items with promo code EXTRA40 that much more exciting.
I’ve been told that Madewell’s jeans are amazing. I don’t own a pair (yet), but this sale is the perfect time to try them out. Click here for all sale denim options. I have my eye on these high riser skinny skinny jeans which are $53.99 (originally $125) with the promo code. Not a bad price at all for a pair of jeans.
One of my absolute favorite fall and winter looks is skinny jeans or black leggings with cognac boots. The color of these archive boots is pretty much perfect and the riding boot style is a classic. Even with the promo code these still are a tad spendy at $170.70 (originally $298), but real leather boots are expensive. No way around that. But you can get years of use out of a great pair of boots. Just make sure you absolutely love them to pay that price.
I recently blogged about my love of big sweaters and I’m pretty sure this cocoon cardigan falls under my personal definition. It looks like you could throw this over anything and be stylish and comfortable. Not a bad price either at $47.99 (originally $128).
I’m still mad for plaid this year. I’ve had a love affair with gingham since the beginning of time (is that normal?), but I don’t think I’ve ever seen a plaid t-shirt before. Initially, I wouldn’t think I would be drawn to a plaid t-shirt, but I like how it looks on the model. Although, personally I’d pair it with a bright colored Kendra Scott necklace. The gingham shirt is $26.99 (originally $74) and the oversized plaid tee is $32.99 (originally $79.50). Both would look perfect under the cocoon sweater above. And with the jeans and boots. Who knew I was picking out an entire sale outfit today. #unplannedperfection
Finally, nothing says “fall” to me like a scarf. I have serious scarf envy since it is currently 96 degrees outside, but I keep telling myself, one day I’ll be able to wear them. This blockweave scarf claims to be lightweight wool and is $33.30 (originally $59.50).
How do you feel about Madewell? Instantly cooler or insanely overpriced?
