Slow Sale Week

I’ll admit it. I’ve been a little disappointed this week as I’ve clicked through my promotional emails and browsed my favorite shopping sites. There hasn’t been much that has caught my eye and tempted me to add it to my internet shopping cart. Given my self-proclaimed shopaholic status, I’m declaring this week a “Slow Sale Week”.

Honestly, it is probably a good thing. We all need these weeks to allow our checking accounts to replenish themselves and our credit card balances to stay within reason.

These weeks help keep our husbands happy. Especially those of us whose husband regularly look at credit card statements like mine. Although it is probably a good thing my husband is in charge of our finances given my tendency to get carried away when I see a good bargain. #atleasticanadmitit

I did come across a few decent sales on things I already own and love. Honestly, there is nothing better than a good personal recommendation anyways, so if you don’t own these lovelies, get on it.

I have this exact tank from Old Navy and I wear it constantly. I’ve paired it with several bright colored shorts and jeans, but I’m convinced it would look good with anything. It is the slub cotton material which is super soft and lays nicely. I still didn’t know what “slub” cotton was, so I Googled it and here is what I found out:

Slub cotton is cotton which contains slight lumps and imperfections, often left in the fabric on purpose or created deliberately by knotting or twisting the fabric as it is woven or spun.

I interpret this to say “cotton that has a vintage-y appearance and looks cool”.  All the small sizes are picked over online, but I bet there are a few of these lingering in the clearance section at your local store.

If stripes aren’t your thing, Gap has a bunch of cute colors on sale in my new favorite cotton peplum tank. It hits short people like me at the right spot and isn’t form fitting so it is really comfortable. I’m not sure how it would look on you tall ladies out there, but I now own this one in three colors/prints. Use code EXTRA for an additional 30% off. Depending on the color you pick, the code brings this tank down to somewhere between $10-12.

lululemon has my favorite 105 degree singlet on sale for $39 in four different colors.  The site always offers free shipping, but it is a little bit of a risk because their sale section is final sale. I always size down in this style because it runs big, but it is a great tank for pretty much everything.

I also noticed that the We Made Too Much section on the lululemon website is down to only 19 items. Usually once it gets down that low, they will refresh the page with some hot new sales. I will probably keep checking over the weekend to see if anything great pops up.

I’m still loving my distressed denim shorts from Gap for which I overpaid a couple weeks back. Don’t act like I’ve forgotten about that. I think about it every time I put these on. But I get over it quickly because I really, really like how this pair fits. Using code EXTRA, they come down to $27.99.

My coral Tory Burch logo lattice sandals are on sale at Saks for $91. Sizes are very picked over, but if you are a 7.5 or an 8.5, you are in luck. They also have navy in a 7.5. This is an awesome price for a leather TB shoe. I’ve already gotten so much use out of mine, and when I saw this price, I debated if I need (yes, need) the navy, too, since I wear a 7.5. I ultimately decided the answer was no, but there was definitely some internal debate going on in my head. I bet my husband would be proud of my decision making skills in this situation.

Like I said, slow sale week. Enjoy saving some money this weekend and hopefully I have some good new sales for you next week. TGIF!!
