Happy happy happy, Friday! I’m coming to you from the beaches of California where we are living for the next 6 weeks. Our home renovation has kicked off and now it is time to try and enjoy some fun in the sun since Summer is here! Today I’m sharing a few of my favorites which I consider essential for Summer.

You guys have heard me complain about Arizona summers many, many times over the years. I have mad love for Arizona, but our intense summer heat is brutal. Even though it’s a dry heat, it is flat out hot when the thermometer is over 105. A few keys to survival are a functioning A/C unit, a swimming pool and Secret Clinical Strength Invisible Solid. I used to think I wasn’t a sun hat person because they never fit my head right. I recently realized I was wrong the whole time. I just wasn’t looking hard enough for an adjustable sun hat. I really should have taken a picture of the inside of this one, but there are little strings you can pull to adjust the hat to fit any size head. This $25 steal is my latest and greatest and I’m obsessed with it. This cute hat is currently keeping me from a sunburn and hopefully a few wrinkles!!
I’ve only been in LA for a couple days, but I can tell you this, I’m loving the weather. It feels so nice to wear things like jeans, sweaters and leggings. You know, stuff I haven’t thought to put on in months. My new favorite pair of leggings are these metallic star tights from Electric Yoga (C/O). I wore these to my workout class today and received all kinds of compliments on them, plus they hug in all the right places. I’m wearing the silver here, but they also come in gold. I’m already thinking about watching the fireworks while wearing these on the 4th!
If you’ve been watching my stories then you already know about my waterproof Birkenstocks. My hubby got me these for Mother’s Day this year and I don’t think they’ve left my feet since then. They aren’t the fanciest shoes in my closet, but they are perfect for the beach, walking the dog, driving, packing boxes, and running errands. Plus they are only $40 and come in 7 different colors! My hubby has the men’s version and loves them just as much. I consider these my new “house shoes”.
