TGIF ladies! Nothing like starting the weekend off with a great sale. The Nordstrom Fall Clearance Sale started yesterday and runs through November 15th. There are an insane amount of designer goodies on sale – 13,260 items in the women’s sale category alone. That’s crazy! That doesn’t even include men, kids and home. Who has time to filter through all that stuff? #noone
Has anyone else started receiving invites to numerous holiday parties? I know I have, and I also know I have nothing to wear to them. In particular, I find dressing for work holiday parties tough. You want to wear something that is maybe slightly dressier than business casual, but still appropriate for a work crowd. No one needs to be showing off cleavage around their boss. You also can’t wear the same dress from last year because it is likely the same group of people. The struggle is real.
I personally find spending a ton of money on a party dress this time of year difficult. I’m already starting to think about buying Christmas gifts and don’t want to drop a couple hundred on an outfit I may never wear again. Good timing on this sale, Nordstrom. Sale shoppers like me appreciate it. Here are my picks to keep you looking fine.
I’m not even going to pretend “Kendra Scott sale” wasn’t my first search when I started looking through the sale. Because it was. Kendra Scott on sale gets me excited. And is it really wrong to plan an outfit around your accessories?!? There are a couple other Kendra Scott rings and necklaces on sale, but I absolutely love these “Ellie” oval stud earrings (click here for black/solid colors and here for druzy). The solid black pair above is also available in magenta, turquoise and white, and the druzy pair are available in gold, silver and white. Wouldn’t these pretty much be the perfect pair of earrings for any party? Or if any of you overachievers out there are starting to buy gifts, these would be a great idea for any lady in your life. The solid colors are on sale for $33.49 (originally $50) and the druzy style is marked down to $43.49 (originally $65).
I think any of these dresses would be perfect for a holiday party. The sleeveless lace dress is by Eliza J. and is marked down to $106.80 (originally $178). Definitely dressier than business casual because of the lace and arms, but still a very classic and modest cut. There is also an opening in the back. The color description says “green”, but the pictures sure look black to me. I’m not sure if that is a typo or what, but the dress is amazing.
My personal favorite is the 3/4 sleeve red lace dress by Adrianna Papell, which is on sale for $119 (originally $160). I own this exact same dress in navy and it fits absolutely perfectly. The length is a tad bit shorter than most dresses I would wear to the office, but still long enough to be appropriate. And this red color? It just screams “holiday party”.
For a slightly more casual look, I think this knit dot dress by Gabby Skye is cute for $64.80 (originally $108). This one could absolutely be worn again and no one would think twice about it.
If you are looking for a dress with a little more bling, I love both of these sequin options. The white chevron dress is awesome, and the price is even better at $43.20 (originally $72). I’m also obsessed with this Adrianna Pappell lace and sequin dress in navy. It is marked down to $92.98 (originally $155). New year eve, anyone?
If you need shoes, these Sam Edelman strappy heels are perfect. They come in a ton of colors and will never go out of style. Meaning you can re-wear them again to next year’s holiday party. Or really, any formal event. I need silver heels for a wedding next month and I’m thinking about getting the silver pair. They are marked down to $73.90 (originally $109.95).
Hopefully, I’ve been some help preparing for those upcoming holiday parties. Unfortunately, I’m not going to be any help on the day of the party when your obnoxious co-worker gets a little too carried away at the open bar. Good luck!!
