Trend Alert: Ankle Wrap Sandals + A Target Giveaway!

Now that we’ve all sprung forward (well, everyone except AZ who doesn’t follow the rules) sandal season has arrived. Every Spring, my toes are ready to break free from my boots and find their way into some cute sandals. Of course, the trends change each year which keeps us all on the hunt for new styles. This year, I can tell you we will be seeing a ton of ankle wrap sandals.

If any of you guys follow me on Instagram, you may already know I’m currently in Hawaii for Spring Break. We got here late Sunday night and as to be expected, we are having a ball. I’ll admit, it rained most of the day yesterday, but I’ll take a rainy day in Hawaii any day over a normal day at home. I’ll do a vacation recap at some point, but I’m giving you a little sneak peek with this outfit I wore out to lunch yesterday. Don’t the pink wrap sandals go perfectly with the pom pom dress?

Now, I know what you are thinking. Aren’t those ties going to be annoying and uncomfortable? Annoying, maybe. Especially if you are the type to take your shoes on and off multiple times a day. However, they aren’t any less comfortable than normal shoes with an ankle strap as long as you don’t tie them too tightly. Trust me, you’ll know when they are too tight. Make sure the wrap is thick, soft and secure as well. If it is the size of a shoelace, there is a good chance it will dig into your skin. The thicker strap is the way to go in my opinion.

I actually own these amazing espadrille sandals (C/O Nalho) in both white and pink. I’m one of those when I find something I love, I can’t resist getting them in more than one color. The soles of these suckers are made out of yoga mats and they are as heavenly as they sound. The ankle wraps are super soft and stretchy and don’t bother me in the slightest when I’m walking around. Well, unless they are tied too tightly. Again, you’ll know right away if you need to loosen those puppies up.

I also own a really cute pair of suede ankle wrap wedges from Marc Fisher (exact here and here, but only a few sizes are left). The wedges are amazing, but if I’m running errands with my kids, I’m probably not going to tie on 4″ wedges. These are great for going out to dinner or a fun vacation shoe. I also love how they look with jeans, making them such a cute choice to transition from Winter to Spring.
